The principal, Mr. Mike Musyimi explained how hard it has been for him negotiating with the principals of the nearby schools in order to ensure that students of Canaan Secondary School undertook their practicals in such schools. He stated that he took control of Canaan secondary school back in 2016 from the hands of by then Yindundu Primary School Head teacher Mr. Ndambuki, who had established the school back in 2013 together with the parents of Yindundu Primary school.

The principal further confirmed that, despite the fact that Canaan secondary school had been in existence for the last eight years, its development in terms of infrastructure had been slowed down by the limited sources of finance. He explained how the Kibwezi East Member of Parliament had been of great help to Canaan Secondary School and affirmed that Hon. Jessica Mbalu had not done just a single project at Canaan Secondary School, but had also helped in construction of almost the entire school since the year 2016, when she first funded the construction of two classrooms, and later on in 2019, where she funded the renovation and improvement of two classrooms which were in a very poor condition.

The principal also confirmed with a lot of joy that the Kibwezi East Member of Parliament, Hon. Jessica Mbalu had also funded the construction of the staffroom, the secretary’s office and the principal’s office as well as funding the construction of both the females and males students' toilets at Canaan secondary school.
